2026 Spring Sequence of New Sounds Review from Theatre & Tonic

Theatre & Tonic March 2, 2026. Presented during the Chinese New Year season at Central Hall Westminster, Spring Sequence of New Sounds 2026 offered a special theatre performance in the UK. Music, dance and visual design co-created a theatre performance. By working Chinese traditional arts forms within contemporary theatrical creation, the production showcased a new Chinese-classical-style aesthetic. The production was supported by Sino-British cultural organization, with dance artistic direction by Beijing Dance Academy and the director of the Confucius Institute in London. The Choreography director team Zhaotian Wang, Danlei XU, Lulu ZHU, are from China, Malaysia and the UK very established dance artists; while vocalists Lili FANG, Jirimuto are very famous artist in China, and instrumentalists and Music director team also came from an international background, reinforcing the work’s cross-cultural ambition.

A new chapter in Sino-Western dialogue: the closing lecture and concert concluded successfully in Beijing

Sino-British cultural exchange - People's Daily

The "Spring Sequence of New Sounds" East-West Dialogue Spring Concert recently took place at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Hosted by the Sino-British Ensemble and co-hosted by the Society for Anglo-Chinese Understanding (SACU) and the U.K. Beijing Arts Centre, the concert was performed to a full house. Zheng Zeguang, the Chinese Ambassador to the U.K., and his wife, Counsellor Hua Mei, attended as honored guests.
